A Recap of 2024

2024 was an incredible year here at RRC. From winning the community choice awards for best counseling center, to bringing amazing counselors into our office, speaking to news outlets about relationships, co-leading many retreats for men, women, counselors, and couples, and spending countless hours in our offices helping people recover, heal, and become more empowered…we are truly grateful.

Events & Adventures

Rocks to Rivers is a company led by Bill Blair, one of our internal referral coaches. The purpose of Rocks to Rivers is to facilitate adventures that help people come alive. Each trip is designed to help participants engage with adventurous activities in a way that help them become more aware of themselves, their needs, and the obstacles that get in their way - and then the facilitators guide them towards a plan towards bigger living. Our own growth

Counselors at RRC are always learning, growing, and digging deeper into life. Here are just a few ways that is playing out among them right now:

Kaiti Stewart and Reid Patterson are recent graduates who offer reduced rates, but didn’t stop there. They have pursued training as EMDR therapists, which allows them to better utilize empirically researched methods to help clients work through trauma and shame.

Maggie Savidge is trained to work with EMDR, Anxiety, & OCD, and comes to us out of her previous career as a speech pathologist (she is currently licensed as both a counselor and speech pathologist in Mississippi). She is a phenomenal resource for working with neurodivergent population.

Will McNeese has started Longleaf Acres, a small farm focused on providing regenerative and humanely raised pork and chicken. In addition to traditional counseling services, he offers experiential style on-farm therapy services connecting people to nature, food, God, and themselves. Bill Blair has designed a 10-week focused coaching path for individuals who are in need of gaining some traction. You can learn more about this here. Bethany Glass has recently become a provider for AETNA, as well as BCBS, in addition to providing EMDR and K9 assisted therapy. And if you haven’t met her therapy pup Hefe, you’ve never met the sweetest therapy dog on this planet.

Stephanie Smith-Jefferson continues to do great work in the counseling room, and is also the Central Regional Director at Crossroads Counseling Center. With her 42 years in the counseling profession, first as a medical genetic counselor and as a marriage and family therapist for the past 20 years, she provides invaluable wisdom and guidance.

Dr. Branden Henry will be publishing his dissertation research study in the Counseling Journal of Sexology and Sexual Wellness in the near future. In addition to teaching classes at Reformed Seminary as a visiting lecturer, he is also an adjunct professor at Richmont Graduate University where he will be teaching on Addiction and Recovery through their onlien program.
