The retreat begins Friday at 3 pm and ends at 10 am on Sunday.
Marriages go through ups and downs, but that doesn’t mean your relationship has to live on the edge. Often the missing element is having fun together. This outdoor workshop facilitated by Rocks to Rivers helps you build positive shared experiences to help your relationship come alive.
THE POWER OF ROCK CLIMBING MINDFULNESS
Rock Climbing Mindfulness introduces powerful benefits to the rest of your life. It helps you tap into your full attention, recognize distracting messages, and grow your problem-solving capacity. You’ll also learn new tools for communication, empathy, and goal planning so your dreams get traction.
Facilitators:
Branden and Renee Henry. Dr. Branden Henry is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of Red River Counseling in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Renee is a 2nd grade teacher at The Redeemer’s School. They have been married for over 20 years and have four teenage children (and 3 labradors).
Accommodations
At Cherokee Rock Village (CRV) there are primitive campsites that are first come/first served. Near the pavilion are hot showers and bathrooms. You’re camping, but it’s not exactly the wilderness. You will need to provide your own tents and sleeping gear or secure a local hotel or Airbnb.
Meals
Quality food service can enhance your experience as a couple and help to create memories for you and your spouse. All meals and snacks are provided throughout the trip once you arrive at base camp.
What do I need to bring?
Dress for comfort.
After you register you will receive an email with details about the location of the event as well as a to-bring list.
You will not be backpacking so everything you need, you can keep in your vehicle or a small daypack during the day.
Activities
Activities include rock climbing, coaching, camping, group processing, and solo reflection time. Your sessions take place on-site at the program location (CRV).
Your breakout sessions introduce you to 4 areas of intimacy; emotional, experiential, physical, and spiritual. You will grow your personal awareness and threshold of intimacy.
A Vision For You
We know this workshop is guaranteed to help you and your spouse connect on a deeper level. The tools and experience you pick up in these sessions are practical and create a framework for you to use at home. Our hope is that you will be empowered and equipped to be intentional in your marriage moving forward.
