• Many of our clinicians are now in-network with multiple insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ambetter, and others. For our other counselors, we are happy to work with your insurance company to access your out-of-network benefits if available.

    Many clients have 50-100% of the cost of their sessions covered by their insurers after they have met their out of network deductibles. The easiest way to find out what your insurance will cover is to contact your HR or insurance company to determine your coverage and benefits. You will be responsible for covering all copays and deductible costs from the first session. This should be discussed with you before and during your first session.

    In the event that your insurance does not cover your care, Red River Counseling can provide you with a discounted cash rate and other options to lower your costs.

  • The cost of counseling can range from $125 to $189 per scheduled hour, depending on the clinician, licensure, and experience level. Some of our counselors are able to adjust these fees according to your needs. We attempt to be as straightforward as possible and have listed all counselor’s fee on their counseling pages.

    There is a $95 per scheduled hour for a missed appointment or appointment canceled with less than 24 hours notice.

    Sometimes insurances cover a portion of the cost. Please see the top question above, “Do we accept insurance?” for more information.

  • We want you to choose which counselor best fits your needs, so we have put all of our information on this website. You are able to choose your counselor and sign up for a session with them online by going here.

    If you would rather us choose who we think would be the best fit, you are able to fill out a short form at the above link and we will get back with you shortly.

  • We use SimplePractice for all of our filing, contact, and billing needs. When you signed up for a session, you should have received a link from SimplePractice that takes you to your client portal. Through that client portal you will have access to all of your information, scheduling, billing, etc.

  • You will need to email your counselor so that we have this request in writing. There email can be found on this website if you do not already have it.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

    Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

  • Prevention

    All of the counselors at Red River Counseling have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we will still seek to meet via telehealth if we become exposed or symptomatic of the illness.

    Protection

    In each of our offices, you will find UV-C filters that are designed to disinfect the air in our office space every hour. We also clean the furniture regularly, as well as provide hand sanitizer and masks for those who wish to have them.

    Additionally, we subscribe to a HIPAA-compliant telehealth service and are happy to meet with you online, just let your counselor know before your session if you would like to exercise this option. More information about telehealth services can be found here.

    Proposals

    -If you have not yet been vaccinated, we ask that you consider wearing a mask during your session or to meet with your counselor via telehealth.

    -If you become exposed to the virus, please let your counselor know so that they can meet with you via telehealth.

    -If you become ill after meeting with one of our counselors in person, please inform them via email as soon as possible.

    Many of us at RRC have elderly family members, immunocompromised friends, and at-risk clients whom we seek to be around with the utmost caution. We deeply appreciate you helping us to care for them and others.
